Hot Rods have always been the best method for breaking the epoxy bond and removing a steel shaft fully intact — especially from clubhead materials that should not receive direct heat. Now, the same procedure can be used on most graphite shafts with Golfsmith's small-diameter heating rods for graphite shafts. Used with care, these extra long 48-inch rods for full-length shafts can be used by themselves or as supplemental heating with a heat gun or torch.
Caution: Do not heat rods to a "red hot" temperature or use as a ram rod to hammer iron heads from the shaft.
